Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) is reaching 11 million kids worldwide on a weekly basis as we disciple our next generation of Christ followers. Awana is a weekly club that combines Scripture memorization, Gospel-grounded age-appropriate teaching, and games into a dynamic discipleship program.

Awana Club at Grace Chapel Castle Rock meets during the school calendar year (September through May) on Sunday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 pm. Registration is now open with our waitlist ready.
FAQs About Awana at GCCR
What age of kids and teens can attend Awana?
We have age-specific groups for ages three through high school. Groups are Cubbies (ages 3-5), Sparks (Kindergarten-2nd grade), T&T (3rd-6th grade), and Trek and Journey (middle school and high school).
What does a typical Awana night look like at Grace Chapel Castle Rock?
Starting at 5:15 p.m. on an Awana night, all of our families, kids, and leaders enter through the West entrance of our Youth Building at 935 Evalena on the East side of our parking lot (opposite the new building). We do our check-in from 5:15-5:30 p.m.
Then, we gather as a whole club in the Worship Center/Game Area for our Opening Time for 5:30-5:40 before dismissing to age-specific groups. Each group then does each of the following in rotations:
- Large Group Time: Bible teaching, worship, and announcements. This is a great opportunity for kids to hear the gospel and Biblical truth directly from leaders, staff, and pastors.
- Small Group Time: Relationships and belonging begin in small groups as kids huddle up with a consistent leader from week to week to discuss Bible lessons, ask and answer important questions, work on memory verses, pray together and work in handbooks.
- Game Time: Whether these involve balloons, running, brain games, agility, strategy, or just plain silliness, our game times offer fun, wholesome ways for your child to burn off some energy.
What’s the security and child safety approach for Awana at Grace Chapel Castle Rock?
Awana thoroughly vets each of our leaders with our volunteer application, standard background check, and Child Protection Safety Training through Protect My Ministry. We also have dedicated, trained security that watches over our building on Sunday nights.
For check-in and checkout procedures at the beginning and end of each night, we use a digital tag system.
When does Awana take place at GCCR?
Awana Club meets weekly on Sunday evenings starting Sunday, September 13th, through Sunday, May 2nd. We do take off time for fall break, spring break, and major holidays. 2026 calendar will be announced soon for regular club nights, as well as themed nights, like Duct Tape Night, Dress Like Your Parent Night, or even Pirate Night. Arrr!
What’s the cost to participate with Awana at GCCR?
2026 registration fees are:
- First child in your family that registers: $55
- Second child in your family that registers: $50
- Third child in your family that registers: $45
- Family Rate (4+ children registered): $175
These fees cover your registration costs as well as one (1) handbook for your child. The rest of your fees go to help support the week-to-week operational costs, such as art supplies, snacks, leadership training, and other essential resources.
That said, we do offer discounts for parents and guardians who serve with Awana:
- Full-time leaders (those who serve almost every Awana Club night) will receive a 50% discount toward their family’s registration fees.
- Part-Time volunteers (those who serve with Awana at least once a month) will receive a 25% discount toward their family’s registration fees.
We understand that sometimes life throws us financial difficulties. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, we discreetly offer scholarships to cover the cost of attending Awana. How do I register for Awana at GCCR?
We use an online registration platform called TwoTimTwo. No more paper forms or having to complete the same info by hand. Simply tap this link to start the registration process. If you have multiple kids you’d like to register, simply tap the button “Add Clubber/Leader” to follow the easy process.

Woohoo! That’s what we love hearing. All of our prospective leaders start with registering themselves through our TwoTimTwo online registration platform. Tap this link to register as a leader. Then, our Awana Ministry Director Jon Cook will reach out to you for a conversation about your faith, background, and why you’d like to serve with Awana.
The next step is completing our volunteer application, standard background check, and Child Protection Safety Training through Protect My Ministry. This is a mandatory process for all prospective leaders to complete. It helps ensure we maintain a safe, secure environment so kids can focus on growing in their faith through Awana.
Is there enough space for my child with Awana at Grace Chapel Castle Rock?
We would love to welcome as many kids to join us for Awana on Sunday nights at GCCR. However, we want to take a smart, responsible approach in our clubber-to-leader ratio in any given classroom. We do have waitlist capacities set up for the 2026-2027 school year.
If you’re able to serve with Awana, we will automatically create space for you and your club-aged children to join us at Awana.
